duolingo for schools

Your French class is going to use Duolingo at school. These are the instructions to join Schools Team Classroom!

If you are on a computer, go here:

http://duolingo.com/o/

If you are on a smartphone or tablet:

  1. Download the Duolingo app and open it up.
  2. Press Get Started. Then select French.
  3. Set your Daily Goal and continue (you can change this later).
  4. Create a Profile: On Android, press the menu icon at the top right corner and press Create a Profile. On iOS, press Profile in the top left corner and press Create a Profile.
  5. Type in your Name, Email and Password, then press Create.
  6. Go to your Profile and press Progress Sharing.
  7. Type in your Classroom Code:
  8. Press Join Class.

Privacy Settings

These settings will apply to all students across all classrooms.

Social Settings

Enable discussion forum Students can participate in discussions with other Duolingo users not in the classroom.

Enable Events Page

Students can participate in Duolingo community-organized events. Please note that all minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Enable Social Profiles and Leagues

Students can make or accept friend requests from other Duolingo users in and outside of the classroom. Students can follow friends' progress and comment on their activities. Students can compete against other Duolingo users in a weekly league. Users with age-restricted or private accounts will not be able to participate.

Classroom Leaderboards

Only students from the same class compete against each other. You can specify the competition start date below.

By having classroom leaderboards enabled, you are overriding public leaderboards. Currently, classroom leaderboards can only be viewed from the Duolingo website. All student activity completed in the course will count towards the competition.
