• 401k: 5% company match, vesting immediately (vendor: Empower).

• Pre-tax spending accounts: Eligible for qualifying expenses for both you and your dependents; includes HSA (health savings account) employer contribution and FSA (flexible spending account) for healthcare and/or dependent care.

• Disability benefits: Duolingo pays the premiums for 100% pay up to 13 weeks (short-term disability), and 60% of pay up to $12k/month (long-term disability)

• Life insurance and AD&D: Duolingo pays the premium for 2x your base salary, up to $250k at no cost to you!

• • Referral bonus: We pay you $10,000 if we hire your referral (after their sixth month of employment).
  • Peer bonus: A good will bonus. We encourage Duos to nominate up to four of their peers per quarter for a $250 peer bonus.
  • Spot bonus: Duos are rewarded for meaningful contributions in the present moment instead of waiting until the end of the year to recognize them! The monetary amount is typically in the thousands.
• • Transportation benefit: We provide Parking/Transit reimbursement, and $1,200/yr for Duos who choose to walk/bike/skateboard/hike to the office
  • Donation match: $1,000/year donation match to any US- based or international charity of your choosing.
  • Mortgage benefit (Pittsburgh): To help stimulate and give back to the local economy, Duolingo offers a $10k first time home buyer bonus to Pittsburgh-based employees.

• Language challenge: $500 for 5,000XP and a 50-day streak (Duos can participate in the challenge 2 times each year).

• • DuoTrips: A benefit for Duos with 2+ years of tenure, these short international experiences combine cultural exploration, getting to know each other, and practicing a language!
  • Company retreat: Every year, we take an all- company annual retreat, usually somewhere tropical. This is a three day team-building retreat, where truly laptops are shut.
